The term cross-sales refers to a neighboring franchise owner selling a coupon into your envelope.

 

Your neighboring franchise owner may have advertisers that would also like to mail within your envelope.  This allows the client to have a larger reach of his advertisement message in areas that your neighboring franchise does not cover. If so, your fellow franchise owner pays you for space within your envelope: helping to reduce your costs and increase your revenue.
